Saginaw River Passage - May 31st

Strong northeasterly winds packed water into the Saginaw River today bringing the river to 52 inches above chart datum.  during the height of the blow, sustained winds were recorded at 35.9 knots with the highest recorded gust at 42 knots.

The Olive L. Moore - Lewis J. Kuber were outbound from the Saginaw River this morning not long after these recordings.

Saginaw River Passages - May 27th

The tug Samuel de Champlain, pushing the cement barge Innovation, called on the Lafarge Cement dock in Essexville on Wednesday.  The pair was expected to be outbound early on Thursday after unloading.  The Olive L. Moore - Lewis J. Kuber were inbound late Wednesday night, calling on the Wirt Stone dock in Bay City.

Saginaw River Passages - May 25th

The Olive L. Moore - Lewis J. Kuber were back on the Saginaw River early Monday morning.  The pair stopped at the Burroughs dock in Zilwaukee and the Lafarge Stone dock in Saginaw.  Also inbound on Monday was the tug Leonard M., pushing the barge Huron Spirit.  They called on the Bay Aggregates dock in Bay City.

Saginaw River Passages - May 24th

Mississagi was inbound on the Saginaw River, early Sunday morning, calling on the Sargent dock in Zilwaukee to unload.  Algoway was also inbound Sunday morning, calling on the North Star dock in Essexville to unload.  Mississagi was outbound Sunday afternoon.

Saginaw River Passages - May 17th

The Harbour Fountain arrived at the Port Fisher Fertilizer dock, in Bay City, to unload early on Sunday.  Arriving with her was the tug Kathy Lynn, to assist with turning in the Essexville Turning Basin at her departure.  The Harbour Fountain is the first "saltie" if the season to call on the Saginaw River.  The Buffalo was also inbound on Sunday, calling on the Bay Aggregates dock in Bay City to unload.  Both vessels were expected to be outbound early Monday.

Algorail was inbound on the Saginaw River, Wednesday morning, calling on the Sargent Dock in Zilwaukee to unload.  She was expected to be outbound later in the evening.

Saginaw River Passages - May 11th

Monday saw the arrival of the Olive L. Moore - Lewis J. Kuber, who unloaded at the Bay Aggregates dock in Bay City.  The pair were outbound for the lake during the early evening hours.  The H. Lee White was inbound late Monday afternoon, calling on the Burroughs North dock in Essexville.  She was expected to be outbound late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Saginaw River - May 8th

One Saginaw River Boater Rescued, One Missing and Presumed Dead

An incident on the Saginaw River on Friday has left one subject in the hospital and the other presumed dead.  The incident happened near the Cheboyganing Creek and the pump off barge for the confined disposal facility located on the Bay-Saginaw County line.  Ryba Marine Construction is currently dredging on the upper Saginaw River and the tug Thomas R. Morrish has been making regular trips between the dredge site and the pump-off barge.
