We are still waiting for the first vessel of the 2022 shipping season here on the Saginaw River, so today, I am taking you back to the 2007 season. Some classics no longer with us. Surprise visits by the Lee A. Tregurtha. Dorothy Ann-Pathfinder unloading coat at Consumers Energy. Oglebay Norton vessels being sold and their stacks being painted in American Steamship Company and Liberty Steamship Company colors.....

This morning the wind is blowing a steady 25 knots, gusting to 47, but it is 47 degrees and the ice is melting... When will we see our first vessel on the Saginaw river for 2022? Until then here are some of my favorite shots from November 2021.
