After unloading overnight at the Burroughs North - GM Dock in Saginaw, American Courage was outbound on the Saginaw River Wednesday morning, passing Saginaw at the Wirt Sand & Stone Dock in Essexville. Saginaw waited for American Courage to clear, then dropped lines and headed up the Saginaw River to finish unloading at the ACE/Saginaw Asphalt - Crow Island Dock. Photos taken 7/2/25

Backtracking a little here. I have taken hundreds of photos the last two days, so I am playing catch up. Here is American Courage, inbound on the Saginaw River last night at Liberty Bridge, headed up to unload at the Burroughs North - GM Dock in Saginaw. Photos taken 7/1/25

Saginaw River Report - June 2025
There
were 27 commercial vessel passages on the Saginaw River for the month of June
2025, with 11 different docks receiving 36 separate deliveries of product. That accounts for split cargo delivered by
one boat to more than one dock. This
represents nine more vessel passages than recorded during June 2024. Looking at the long-term averages, June was above
all of them, with the 5-year average being 21 passages, the 10-year average at 22
passages, the 15-year average at 21 passages, and the 20-year average at 23
commercial vessel passages for the month of June.
For the total number of commercial vessel passages for the year-to-date, there have been 62, which is 3 more passages than last year at this point. Looking at the averages, the 62 passages for the year to date are again more than all the long-terms with the 5-year average at 57, the 10-year average at 52, the 15-year average at 48, and the 20-year average at 49 vessel passages for the month of June.
During the month of June, there were 20 deliveries to the docks on the lower half of the Saginaw River, located in Essexville and Bay City, and 16 deliveries to upper river docks, located in Zilwaukee, Carrollton, and Saginaw. 8 vessels carried split loads with cargo unloaded at more than one dock. For the year-to-date, there have been 52 lower river deliveries and 35 upper river deliveries, with 23 split loads.
