Here is one photo of Alpena on the Saginaw River from each year that I have one, beginning with the year 2000, and going forward through the 2024 season.

Saginaw River Year End Review: October 2024
Saginaw River Sunday!
Continuing the review of the 2024 season, we have now made it to October. There were 22 commercial vessel passages during the month, which was the same as October 2023. That gave us 162 vessel passages for the year to date at this point, 26 more than in 2023. Maintenance dredging was in full swing on the lower river in October as well. By the end of October, I had now photographed 49 different vessels for the year.
I was able to fly the drone for photos 17 times, covering 16.68 miles, over 3 hours and 4 minutes. That gave me 135 flights that covered 144.34, over 23 hours and 6 minutes for the year to date.

Saginaw River Year End Review: September 2024
2024 Year in Review: September 2024. What a great month on the Saginaw River, with 29 commercial vessel passages, 11 more than 2023 and 140 passages for the year-to-date, 26 more than the year before at this time. There was the first delivery of road salt to the Sargent dock in Zilwaukee in a few seasons, and a good variety of vessels and tug action, including what seemed like Northern Venture here every few days.
With the drone, I flew 26 times, logging 30.03 miles over 4 hours and 21 minutes of flight time. For the year-to-date, that gave me 127.66 miles flown in 20 hours 2 minutes during 118 flights.
