Saginaw River Passages - June 29th & 30th

Manitowoc was inbound on the Saginaw River, late Saturday night, carrying a split load for the Bay Aggregates dock in Bay City and the Bay City Wirt Stone dock.  Once she was finished unloading, she turned in the Wirt Basin and was outbound from the river on Sunday morning.  Olive L. Moore - Lewis J. Kuber was inbound on Sunday, also carrying a split cargo.  The pair unloaded a partial cargo at the Burroughs North dock in Essexville, then continued upriver to finish unloading at the Lafarge Stone Dock in Saginaw.  The Moore-Kuber were outbound for the lake Monday morning.  Dredging operations are underway in the area where Algorail was stuck between the Liberty and Vet's Memorial bridges in Bay City

For the month of June, there were 24 commercial vessel passages/deliveries.  The was up by eight passages from the same time period in 2012, and four more than the five year average of 20 vessel passages.  For the year to date, there have been 45 commercial vessel passages/deliveries.  This is down six from the same time period last year.
