Saginaw River Passages - September 3rd to 6th

On Friday, the tug Olive L. Moore and barge Lewis J. Kuber arrived on the Saginaw River and lightered at the Wirt Sand & Stone dock in Essexville. The pair then waited out extremely strong winds for the next day and a half at the Essroc dock, before heading upriver to finish their unload at the Saginaw Rock Products Dock.

On Monday, Calumet was inbound for the GM Dock in Saginaw. She was expected to be outbound late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

  1. I saw the Kuber-Moore Southbound on Friday near Tawas. I thought I saw it northbound passing Greenbush at 4 pm on Saturday. I saw for sure passing Greenbush at 8 pm northbound on Sunday. Because of the wind issue you reported in your blog, I could not have seen the Kuber-Moore on Saturday. Is there another vessel that looks similar?

  2. The tug Victory with the barge James Kuber does look similar and is painted the same.

This could be the vessel you saw.
