Algoma Innovator was inbound on the Saginaw River, just after sunrise on Saturday morning. She was headed up to the North Star Fertilizer Dock in Essexville to unload.

Saginaw River Passage - April 9th

Mississagi arrived on the Saginaw River late Wednesday night, traveling upriver to the Sargent dock in Zilwaukee to unload. She finished and was back outbound, headed for the lake by mid-morning 
on Thursday. Mississagi is the first vessel to travel up through the Bay City Bridges and the first commercial delivery to the upper Saginaw River this season.

Saginaw River Passage #1 of 2020

The Saginaw River saw her first commercial vessel passage of the 2020 shipping season, with the arrival of the tug Spartan and her tank barge, Spartan II. The pair arrived late Wednesday morning, March 18th, 2020, calling on the Port Fisher Dock in Bay City to unload at the Dow/Oxy unloading connection. The arrival of the Spartan/Spartan II starts the 2020 season three weeks earlier than the 2019 season.

Saginaw River Vessel Passages - June 2019


For the month of June 2019, there were 23 commercial vessel passages on the Saginaw River.  This represents three fewer vessel passages than during June 2018.  As compared to the 5-year and 10-year statistical averages, the number of passages was up with the 5-year average being 21 vessels and then 10-year average at 20 vessels.

Looking at the total number of commercial vessel passages for the year-to-date through the end of June 2019, there were a total of 47.  This is three more passages than during the same time period in 2018.  This also represents an increase of six passages more than both the 5-year and 10-year statistical averages recorded at 41 for each.
