Mark W. Barker, a Saginaw River favorite, on the St. Clair River, headed for Lake Huron at the Blue Water Bridge.  This was the third boat I was able to photograph this trip.

St. Clair River/Port Huron Trip: Arthur M. Anderson - November 10. 2024

I recently took a trip to the Port Huron area to do a little photography.  The first vessel I was able to catch was the classic Arthur M. Anderson.  This is very significant.  In all of my years following and photographing boats, I have never photographed the Anderson, or even saw her in person.  To see her for the very first time, on the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, well lets just say it was a pretty special thing for me.

Saginaw River Passage - November 12, 2024: American Courage

After going to anchor out in Saginaw Bay for 24 plus hours, waiting for wind conditions to improve before entering the Saginaw River, American Courage was inbound on Tuesday morning, stopping first in the slip at Port Fisher to unload for Bay Aggregates, then continuing upriver to finish unloading across the river at the Burroughs North/Essexville Dock.
