Saginaw River Passage - June 5th

H. Lee White arrived on the Saginaw River on Saturday, unloading at the Port Fisher Terminals - Bay Aggregates Slip.

Saginaw River Report - May 2021

There were a total of 24 commercial vessel passages on the Saginaw River for the month of May, with 10 docks receiving product accounting for split loads.  This is one fewer passage than in May 2020, but more than the 5-year average of 19 passages, 10-year average of 17, and 15-year average of 18.

For the total number of commercial vessel passages for the year-to-date, the number is 34.  This number represents a decrease of 5 passages over the total from last year at this point.  Looking at the averages, it is a decrease as compared to the 5-year average of 27 passages, equal to the 10-year average of 24, and below the 15-year average of 28 passages.

Saginaw River Passages - May 31st

Monday morning, Memorial Day 2021, saw the arrival of Algoma Buffalo and Samuel de Champlain - Innovation to the Saginaw River.  It was the third straight visit for Algoma Buffalo, making the salt run between Goderich, ON and the Sargent Salt Dock in Zilwaukee.  the tug Samuel de Champlain, and her cement barge, Innovation, made their first visit of the season to the Saginaw River, unloading at the Lafarge Cement Dock in Essexville.

Saginaw River Passage - May 29th

Saturday morning saw Algoma Buffalo back on the Saginaw River, for her second trip in a row, delivering salt to the Sargent Dock in Zilwaukee. Here are my photos from this morning.

Saginaw River Passage - May 27th

Algoma Buffalo made her first visit of the season to the Saginaw River on Thursday, traveling up to the Sargent Dock in Zilwaukee to unload.  

Saginaw River Passages - May 25th

Alpena and Olive L. Moore - Menominee both arrived on the Saginaw River Tuesday morning. The Moore/Menominee initially attempted entering the Bay Aggregates Slip stern first, but were not able to make that work. They then repositioned and attempted to enter bow first, eventually making it into the slip. Alpena moved upriver on the dock at Lafarge to give the Moore/Menominee more room to make the swing.
