Saginaw River Passages - June 23rd & 24th

Algoway called on the Saginaw River on June 23rd, tying up at the LaFarge Cement dock in Essexville. She then moved a short distance upriver, to the Port Fisher dock in Bay City, to make room for the arriving G.L. Ostrander - Integrity, which also called on the Lafarge Dock. Algoway is waiting for better, safer conditions before unloading her cargo. G.L Ostrander - Integrity is unloaded and tied up, waiting to be able to turn around, as the current in the Saginaw River is at extreme levels from very heavy rains earlier in the week.
The Saginaw River is under a flood warning and as of 9am Sunday, June 25th, the river is currently at 18.08 feet and rising. Flood stage is 17 feet. The Saginaw River is expected to crest at 20.4 feet. The current rate of flow is 32,100 cubic feet per second near Downtown Bay City. The median flow rate is normally 5,000 cubic feet per second.
