Vessels Operating in the ice on the Saginaw River

Operating in the ice isn't easy on the boats that have to do it, especially if you have to back and ram or ultimately need ice-breaking assistance, but from a photography standpoint, it provides some great opportunities. On the Saginaw River, the 2002 season provided a number of these opportunities, as all of these photos were shot that year.
