Saginaw River Passage - June 29, 2024: Karen Andrie/Endeavour

Karen Andrie - Endeavour were inbound on the Saginaw River, entering the Port Fisher Slip to unload for Bit-Mat on Saturday morning. This was their first visit since 5/25/2013. Bit-Mat received one delivery by water in 2014 (Everlast/ Norman McCloud), then no deliveries by water until 2018 when Barbara Andrie/A-397 made one delivery. 2019 started a run of deliveries to Bit-Mat by Iver Bright, with Karen Andrie/Endeavour making a return on 6/29/24.

Alpena in Alpena: June 19, 2024

Ok, so this is not the Saginaw River, but it is something I have wanted to catch for a long time.  You do not see many photos of the boats arriving at of departing the Holcim Cement Plant in Alpena, so while camping in Harrisville, I was able to make it happen.  I am excited for these shots!  It is something I have not saw before for sure.

Continuing the Alpena theme, because you can never get too much Alpena.  Here she is turning in the Essexville Basin at sunset on June 14th and heading outbound on the Saginaw River.

Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder inbound on the Saginaw River, headed for the Wirt Stone Dock to unload the first half of a split cargo.

Saginaw River Passage - June 14, 2024: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder & Alpena

Dorothy Ann-Pathfinder were inbound on the Saginaw River Friday evening, bringing a split cargo for the Wirt Stone Docks in Bay City and Saginaw. Alpena departed Holcim Cement after the pair cleared, going up to the Essexville turning basin, turning and heading outbound for the lake.

Saginaw River Passage - June 12, 2024: Northern Venture

Northern Venture was back on the Saginaw River, making her 4th visit of the season on Wednesday. She arrived with a split cargo, stopping first to unload at the Port Fisher/Bay Aggregates Dock in Bay City, then continuing upriver to finish unloading at the ACE/Saginaw Asphalt - Crow Island Dock. Northern Venture was turned and back outbound for the lake early Thursday morning.
