During the month of April, there were 3 commercial vessel passages on the Saginaw River. This is the same number of passages as compared to April of last season. The 5-year average for the month of April is 4 passages, so we are just slightly behind that. Looking back to the 10-year average, we fall a little further behind, as that average is 7 vessel passages. Interesting to note, back in 2010, there were a whopping 17 commercial vessel passages for the month of April!
For the total vessel passages year to date, there have been 4. This is also the same as compared to April of last year. It is also close to the 5-year average for April at 5 vessel passages and a few behind the 10-year average of 7.
