Defiance-Ashtabula inbound on the Saginaw River, headed for the slip at Port Fisher to unload for Bay Aggregates. The pair was assisted by the tug North Dakota. North Dakota had assisted Robert S. Pierson earlier in the week due to strong river currents from recent heavy rainfall. The current has now peaked and is slowly coming down, but was still strong enough for a tug assist making the turn into the slip.
