The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service fish stocking and research vessel, Spencer F. Baird, arrived on the Saginaw River October 16th and has been tied up at the Port Fisher Terminals Dock in Bay City. She was built in 2006, is 95 feet long, has a beam of 30 feet and drafts 9.5. Some of the duties of the Spencer F. Baird include Great Lakes research and releasing lake trout on offshore spawning reefs. Photos taken 10/22/25
