BBC Ukraine on the Saginaw River at the Port Fisher Terminal Dock, Tuesday morning. People have been asking if she is loading or unloading. The boat is definitely being unloaded. You can see the remaining cargo in the hold up near the bow. You can also see that the Saginaw River has a skim of ice all the way across. Photos taken 12/2/25
There is also ice forming on Saginaw Bay. Emergency responders were called out for their first ice rescue of the season as there was a subject who fell through the ice approximately a quarter mile offshore from Pinconning Road this morning. The subject was able to self-extricate and get to shore on his own before responders arrived. Be careful out there everyone. As the Coast Guard says, "No ice is safe ice", especially not yet.
