The bitumen & oil tanker, McAsphalt Advantage, made her first ever visit to the Saginaw River on Tuesday, assisted to the Port Fisher Slip to unload for Bit-Mat Products of Michigan. She was assisted by the tug North Dakota. McAsphalt Advantage was built for McAsphalt Marine Transportation, LTD. of Hamilton, ON. Completed in 2024, she is 459'31" long, has a beam of almost 78', and has a deadweight tonnage of 12,000 tons. McAsphalt Advantage has a hull that is optimized for fuel efficiency and maneuverability. She is also a dual fuel vessel, that can utilize Liquified Natural Gas or Marine Diesel Oil.
